Job summary

Y-Axis in London is seeking an experienced front-end developer to design, build, and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript. You will own features from initial requirements through testing, deployment and ongoing improvement.

Collaborate with product, design and engineering to translate complex workflows into intuitive experiences, ensuring accessibility, performance and quality while mentoring others and shaping engineering standards across the team.

Qualifications

• Five years of relevant commercial software development experience.
• Strong experience with React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS.
• Experience with REST APIs and front-end performance optimization.
• Proficient in testing, debugging and code review practices.
• Git or equivalent version-control system experience.
• Experience working with C#/.NET and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Knowledge of data-visualisation libraries (e.g., Highcharts) is a plus.

• Key responsibilities Design, develop and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript.

Required Experience and Skills

Candidates should have at least five years of relevant commercial software development experience. For appointment at senior level, we would ideally expect substantial experience demonstrating technical leadership, architectural judgement and end-to-end ownership.

• QualificationsRequired 3-5 years’ experience in similar/relevant positions.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining enterprise-level backend services using C#.
• Experience with NLP through work experiences or personal projects.
• Deep understanding of development best practices, including design principles, debugging and testing.
• Strong SQL and relational database design experience required.
• Preferred Experience embedding agile principles into day-to-day workflows.
• Working experience in any of the following – e-comms surveillance, e-comms, trade reconstruction, transaction monitoring and case management.
• Working understanding of financial datasets.
• Good understanding of financial regulations.
