Morson Edge is recruiting a REACh Manager based in Yeovil on a 12-month contract for an Aerospace client. You will act as the focal point to the client’s REACh Manager, providing support and ensuring information flow across the Geography.

Responsibilities include risk analysis, coordinating REACH activities, maintaining SDS, Art.33 declarations, and assisting with audits and UK CoEs on REACH projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in chemistry or chemical engineering.
  • Experience in regulatory affairs is a must.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK/EU policy on chemicals, especially REACH.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead discussions and build consensus.

  • Support UK CoEs and supply chain in REACH compliance and assist with external audits.

Job Overview

Morson Edge are currently recruiting for a REACh Manager to be based out of Yeovil on an initial 12 – month contract on behalf of our Aerospace client’s.

Act as a key focal point towards our client’s REACh Manager, granting the required support and information flow and representing the Geography in our client’s REACH Team

  • Support our client’s REACh Manager in caring out his duties in relation to the represented Geography
  • Analyse the risks identified within the represented Geography with the aim to assess criticalities at Divisional level and their possible mitigations, with the support of the local Risk Management Organization Unit
  • Support the HSE Manager with any HSE related tasks
Role Responsibilities
  • Act as a key focal point towards our client’s REACh Manager, granting the required support and information flow and representing the Geography in our client’s REACH Team
  • Support our client’s REACh Manager in caring out his duties in relation to the represented Geography
  • Analyse the risks identified within the represented Geography with the aim to assess criticalities at Divisional level and their possible mitigations, with the support of the local Risk Management Organization Unit
  • Identify, monitor and record of the quantities of Substances (i) imported, (ii) included in Candidate List, (iii) and included in the Annexes XIV and XVII of REACh or UK REACh in the relevant Geography and report to the Division REACh Manager
  • Promote the non-use of SVHC in authorisation and the minimisation of use of the other SVHC for new designs
  • Adapt our client’s procedural body specific of the represented Geography to ensure the application of the REACh regulation at local level and allow compliance with the obligations required for all activities carried out in this regard, in accordance with our client’s S.p.A. Directive and CPRs;
  • Collect the needs of the Organizational Units (Departments/Functions) of the represented Geography of our client’s as proposed by the relevant REACh Focal Points for the adoption, creation and adaptation of the tools useful for the execution of the processes concerning the REACh regulation, including IT ones;
  • Lead the Geography REACh Team, with the aim to ensure an adequate information flow towards our client’s REACH Manager with regards to our clients responsibility and to comply with the requirements of the current regulations.
  • Through the involvement of the geography REACh Team and of the relevant Organization Units Focal Points in the relevant Geography, as necessary, ensure:
  • Collection and storage of Material Safety Data Sheet for chemicals, and verification of conformity to REACH Regulations
  • POC for all REACH related communications (e.g. Art. 33 declaration, supply chain and customer queries) towards supply chain and Customer Base to ensure consistent information dissemination
  • Collection and communication to the relevant agency or authority through the geographic Legal Entity of all the data needed for REACH Art. 66 Notification and relevant requested data to be monitored for Substances in Annex XIV
  • verify that the uses of substances in Annex XIV are in accordance to the Exposition Scenarios, including the protection means defined in the authorisation decision
  • Ensure to provide Customers and Suppliers who manufacture parts as built to print with the SDS and declaration ex Art. 33 as necessary and compliant with the applicable regulations and drafted in the recipient national language
  • take care of the elaboration, the signature according to the delegated power in force, delivery and archive of the Material Declarations (ex Art.33) to Customers, considering and including the information received from suppliers, ensuring traceability of communications and of the analysis done on the products
  • Identify critical risks and required Substitution/Mitigation Plan acting also as PM in this respect (management of UK budgets, collation of cost estimates, preparation of CWO etc)
  • POC to coordinate the technical activities within LHD to design, certify and manufacture components which are REACh compliant
  • Support to UK CoEs in implementation of REACH driven projects
  • Support to supply chain and vendors in REACH compliance
  • Represent our client’s at external consortia (currently ADCR & IAEG)
  • Support internal and external audits on REACH within UK Geography
Desirable Skills
  • Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or similar
  • Experience within the chemical industry or authorities;
  • experience in regulatory affairs is a must
  • Extensive knowledge of UK/EU policy on Chemicals, especially REACH Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Strong capacity to communicate with people with different technical backgrounds Ability to lead discussions and build consensus
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills Excellent English (written and spoken)
  • Adaptability to work on tight deadlines and to handle multiple priorities
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills
