About the Role:

  1. Deliver engaging and challenging RE lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating diverse religious and philosophical perspectives.
  2. Plan and deliver lessons that foster critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and interfaith dialogue, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including theological texts and philosophical debates.
  3. Assess student progress through essays, presentations, and discussions, providing detailed feedback to support their development.
  4. Contribute to the development of the RE curriculum, integrating current religious and ethical debates, and participate in departmental planning.
  5. Organize and lead religious and ethical discussions, debates, and interfaith activities, promoting student engagement and spiritual growth.

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong RE subject knowledge, including theology, philosophy, and ethics.
  2. Demonstrated experience teaching RE to A-Level, with a focus on both theoretical concepts and ethical reasoning.
  3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and philosophical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  4. Commitment to fostering interfaith dialogue and ethical understanding within a Christian ethos.
