RC Operator

Job Description

Vanderlande is the market leader in efficient logistics process automation within the airports and parcel sector. We are also a leading supplier of process automation solutions for warehouses.

Your Role

Working within IAG Cargo, the RC Operator will perform RC duties to ensure productivity is maximized through MHCS equipment, maintaining optimum availability and quality in accordance with agreed timescales. All activities must be recorded using Maximo, and management teams and colleagues should be updated via text messages and shift logs. Ensure health & safety compliance at all times. Key tasks include:

1. Proficiency in all aspects of Remote Control Operation, including:

• Cage Systems
• ULD Systems
• Visualization
• Maximo
• CCTV

Sending manning level and equipment out-of-service SMS messages at the start of each shift to BA operations, RC manager, Maintenance manager, Service manager if DM is not present or unable to do so.

Completing system checks at the start of each shift.

Updating the Shift Log and other reports during the shift, recording outages and incidents.

Recording non-conformance items that may impact performance, such as keying errors, loose plastic, poorly built ULDs, and loose freight in the system.

Understanding the impact of a single point breakdown on overall material flow within Ascentis.

As an RC Operator, you should be willing to assist and learn from a multi-disciplined team in a fast-moving environment. Our expectations include:

1. Interacting with customers professionally and courteously via face-to-face, telephone, or email.
2. Ensuring contract SLAs are consistently met and improved.
3. Willingness to work shifts, including nights.
4. Providing cover for other RC Operators/shifts when necessary.
5. Knowledge of baggage, cargo handling systems, or warehouse systems.
6. Knowledge of air freight systems.
