Qualifications

Raw Materials Technologist

Raw Materials Technologist Key Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate potential and existing suppliers to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and legal standards
  2. Conduct supplier visits and audits
  3. Maintain raw material specifications, including measurable tolerances
  4. Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and use insights to drive continuous improvement
  5. Support Commercial and NPD teams in approving new raw materials for site use
  6. Train and manage the intake team to ensure effective quality checks
  7. Ensure all supplier non-conformances are recorded and followed up with timely corrective actions
  8. Act as the lead contact for investigating and resolving raw material non-conformities
  9. Maintain seasonality calendars to identify and mitigate supply risks
  10. Manage vulnerability assessments, highlighting and addressing supply chain risks
  11. Support the Customer Support team by building specifications and responding to raw material queries
  12. Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to raw material quality
  13. Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships
Raw Materials Technologist Requirements:
  • Internal Auditing Qualification
  • VACCP/TACCP training
  • Desirable: Degree in Food Science, Agronomy, or related discipline
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Food Safety Level 3
  • Commercial awareness
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in food manufacturing
