Job summary

Samworth Brothers is seeking a Raw Materials Technologist to ensure every ingredient and packaging item on site is safe, legal and high quality. You will maintain material data, challenge suppliers when needed, and support NPD and Process teams to resolve issues before production.

Based at our Leicester site, you will work with QA, supply chain and technical teams, manage specs and documentation, and help sustain accurate, compliant data in key systems such as Point 74, Recipe Professor, Foods

Qualifications

• Experience in raw materials, QA, supply chain or technical roles.
• Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, allergens and specification requirements.
• Ability to challenge suppliers when information is unclear or incorrect.
• Strong data and systems skills with good attention to detail.
• Proactive, problem solving attitude.

Responsibilities

• Complete raw material risk assessments including TACCP/VACCP updates.
• Collaborate with NPD and Process teams from concept to launch.
• Keep raw material information accurate in key systems.
• Challenge suppliers on specification content or compliance.
• Manage raw material documentation including specs and certificates.
• Support internal audits and traceability exercises.
