Job summary

ForFarmers in the United Kingdom is seeking a Planner to ensure the efficient supply of raw materials across manufacturing operations. You will coordinate planning, purchasing and movement of materials, working with suppliers, mills and hauliers to maintain continuity of supply and drive cost‑effective operations.

The role covers logistics, storage, haulage and contract administration, with responsibilities across procurement, order monitoring and audits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuity of supply and quality of designated raw materials at the best possible cost, adjusting delivery schedules to meet mill demand.
• Manage raw material supply contracts, ensuring compliance with contract periods, rent due dates and locations.
• Anticipate and resolve short-term supply issues in a cost-effective manner, escalating as needed.
• Monitor and track raw material orders to ensure timely deliveries.
• Process purchase requisitions into purchase orders using contracts and records.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and Mill Planners to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor storage and rental costs, liaising with storekeepers to optimise storage collections.
• Maintain relationships with haulage providers and ensure compliance with TASCC Code of Practice.
• Support supplier, haulier and storage audits as required.
• Extend, amend or close contracts timely to maintain accurate records and manage quality-related claims.
