As a Raw Materials Controller at our Sandtoft site, you will manage our factory-based Site Services Team with responsibility for the maintenance of site standards, inclusive of specified contractors and activities under the Site Services remit (inclusive of ownership for COSHH responsibilities on site).

You will lead and drive improvement projects and processes to drive improvement initiatives, and deliver benefits to Health and Safety, quality, cost and environment with the aim to become a continuous improvement process expect.

About the Role

We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as Raw Materials Controller where you will:

  • Ensure all raw materials, consumables and consolidated stock are cycle counted in accordance with our Policy; maintaining information and documentation required for reporting and auditability purposes
  • Conduct and control ordering of raw materials ensuring production schedules, lead times and safety stock holding are considered to maintain sufficient and adequate raw materials and consumable stocks
  • Arrangement / management of goods receipts and all internal / external Plant to Plant transfers in SAP
  • Effectively manage local stock holdings of consumable items used in production, working closely with the Operations team to ensure that they have sufficient supplies of consumables
  • Monitor raw material usage and work with the teams to identify ways of improving yield/reducing wastage of key raw material items
  • Work closely with procurement to discuss any supply chain issues with raw materials; escalating any issues identified
  • Ensure waste / empty containers and packaging materials are disposed of correctly to ensure costs are managed effectively and waste routes are as efficient as possible
  • Encourage and attribute to an environment of continuous improvement
  • Provide cover for the QA function on site when required

Hours of Work: to Monday to Friday

About You

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in a manufacturing / high production environment with a safety-first culture (safety is our biggest priority, so you’ll be committed to safe working and have good general safety awareness)
  • Minimum 1 year leadership experience
  • Prior experience of stock control, stock counting, raw material ordering processes
  • IT skills – working knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Strong organisational & planning abilities
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to lead a team to drive improvements
  • Prior experience SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Prior experience of COSHH systems and processes
  • Knowledge of CI processes and tools
  • Flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities in the factory which help us run efficiently
