Job summary

Brookfield Asset Management Inc. is seeking a credit analyst to perform credit analysis and assign internal ratings across asset classes, supporting regulatory requirements and surveillance.

You will maintain rating methodologies with audit trails, run stress tests, and coordinate with Portfolio Management, Investments, Compliance/Legal, Operations, and external managers to rollout methodologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
• CPA or CFA progress is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain rating methodologies and models by asset class, with clear documentation and audit trail.
• Run rating-focused stress tests and scenario analyses to assess downgrade risk and portfolio resilience.
• Coordinate with Portfolio Management, Investments, Compliance/Legal, Operations, and external managers on process alignment and methodology rollout.
• Manage credit risk data and reporting, including ad hoc stakeholder requests.
• Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or CFA progress is an asset.
• 2-3 years of credit rating experience at a rating agency, insurer, or other financial institution.
• Insurance sector experience and familiarity with insurance reporting is an asset.
• Strong judgment, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication; collaborative at all levels.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
