Overview

To assist colleagues within the Soft Services Department to provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and colleagues, in line with the Trust's Standards and the National Cleaner Hospitals Programme.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a rota — Monday to Sunday between 6am and 10pm (including bank holidays).
  • Carry out general cleaning responsibilities and, when trained, undertake deep cleaning within the Trust following outbreaks of infectious illness, dirty protests, terminal cleaning of vacated isolation rooms and in areas which have undergone maintenance.
  • Operate specialist decontamination equipment such as Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour equipment, as trained.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Previous experience of working within the cleaning industry is essential.
  • Hold a full clean UK driving licence; ability to drive company vehicles throughout the GMMH footprint.
  • All positions are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. Enrolment in the DBS Update Service is required for a fee of £16 per year and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Training on machinery will be provided.
