Job description

12 month fixed term (potential for extension)

The Ranger Team supports visitors to explore and learn about many of Salford City Council's 60 parks and greenspaces.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with experience in community development and volunteer engagement to join the Salford Ranger Team. The role will focus on supporting the community, local groups, organisations, and key partners to utilise the city’s parks and greenspaces.

Working predominantly in our urban parks, you will be involved in providing local people with a safe and enjoyable experience of their green open space. The role includes the organisation and delivery of a varied programme of engaging park-based activities for the public, as well as maintenance and care of the grounds to green flag standard alongside volunteers and the council’s grounds maintenance teams.

As part of the team, you will also help to maintain our parks and greenspaces, providing safe, welcoming places for everyone to enjoy.

You will need to be flexible, highly organised, and possess good communication skills.

This post will involve regular weekend, bank holiday, and evening work for which appropriate enhancements will be made. A driving licence is desirable.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for the successful applicant.
