We are looking for friendly faces to come along to the World Heritage Site to assist the Canal and River Trust with keeping the canal area an open access for all site and a litter free place for locals, families and Tourists to enjoy.
On your regular walks along the towpath you'll be required to welcome early visitors to the site while collecting any litter you come across, you'll also be required to report any defects or incidents to your task manager and help open-up the visitor centre. All equipment will be provided by Canal & River Trust.
This opportunity would suit someone with a couple of hours to spare one morning a week (8.30am - 10am), although you can dedicate more time if you choose to. We would welcome interest from couples as well as individuals.
Why we want you
As a Waterway Ranger you'll be the face, eyes and ears of the Trust. Having a regular friendly presence on the towpath means a lot for visitors and supporters and goes a long way to us caring for and sustaining our fantastic network for future generations. We need your support to be there for our customers. You'll be assisting our visitor experience at some of our most beautiful sites, as well as possibly working in our more remote and niche environments, learning more about our waterways. Your support to help maintain our network will help us achieve our goal to keep canals alive.
