Job Description

Our key client, a leading telecoms company, is seeking a highly skilled RAN Ericsson SME to join their automation team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Ericsson RAN platforms and equipment, along with a strong understanding of Network Automation, Orchestration, and Service Management. You will be instrumental in designing and architecting automation solutions to optimize mobile network performance, efficiency, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Expertise: Act as the primary authority on RAN topics, focusing on Ericsson RAN platforms and equipment within the Mobile Automation Team.
  2. Automation Design: Collaborate with the team to design and implement RAN automation solutions that streamline network operations, including provisioning, fault management, and performance optimization.
  3. Network Orchestration: Support and improve network orchestration capabilities, integrating RAN functionalities into the broader service orchestration architecture.
  4. Service Orchestration: Develop strategies to ensure seamless RAN service integration within automated networks.
  5. Operational Support: Provide advanced technical support for automated RAN systems, resolving complex issues and maintaining high network availability.
  6. Documentation & Training: Create technical documentation and training materials for RAN automation deployment and operation.
  7. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including core network, IT, and field operations, to align automation objectives.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance RAN automation processes and stay updated on industry trends.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience with Radio Access Networks, especially Ericsson RAN platforms and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of RAN architectures, including 4G LTE and 5G NR.
  • Experience with network automation tools and platforms.
  • Familiarity with network and service orchestration concepts (e.g., NFV, SDN, MANO, ETSI).
  • Understanding of OSS/BSS systems, particularly Ericsson ENM and AMOS APIs.
  • Experience with scripting for bulk provisioning in ENM, handling conflicts and overloads.
  • Knowledge of RAN interfaces like O1, A1, O2, M-Plane, and implementing rApp capabilities in multi-RAT/multi-vendor environments.
  • Awareness of how the Telecom Security Act (TSA) impacts RAN automation.
  • Strong collaborative skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.), and cloud-native architectures.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, and industry certifications such as Ericsson Certified Associate.
