The primary responsibility of this position is to provide assistance to the operation of the Ramsey Center during events. This position includes, but not limited to the following:
Assistance in the seating areas; provide guests with directions or other venue information; help guests locate their assigned seats; report any ticketing problems to a supervisor; depending on event, you may use a scanner at the door to scan tickets or work in a position to allow/disallow access into the event area based on the customer's credentials; provide ticket sales and customer service to students, faculty and staff of WCU, as well as patrons outside of campus; you will be trained to handle and account for cash and process ticket sales for all ticketed events. You will be trained in using the WCU online ticketing system and take phone orders, balance your cash drawer at the end of your shift or event and how to communicate to customers event information and answer questions effectively while also learning the Ramsey Center building layout, including location of restrooms, first aid room, concession stand and ticket office.
Assistance with the work crew completing event setups and strikes (i.e. stage, tables, chairs, sound, lighting, basketball court, etc.) Other duties will include custodial activities and facility cleaning. Additional duties may include working as a concert stage hand, spot light operator and security for events.
