Job summary

Northern is seeking a Facilities Manager based in Leeds (Neville Hill) to lead engineering facilities across the North West, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliable support for fleet operations.

You’ll manage FM providers, lead a small internal team, and drive performance through data insights while communicating with directors and frontline colleagues. This platform role offers visibility and real impact.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in engineering, facilities, or depot environments.
• Strong ability to communicate with contractors, service providers and internal teams.
• Knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements in operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the go-to person for depot facilities, compliance, and service delivery across locations.
• Manage FM service providers for hard and soft services, including maintenance, security, cleaning, and waste.
• Lead a small internal team supporting rail-specific plant and facilities.
• Build relationships with contractors, suppliers, and site leaders to ensure standards.
• Use data to track performance, spot risks, and tell the story behind numbers.
• Manage budgets for facilities and maintenance, shaping investment plans.
