Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is recruiting an Area Manager to oversee a prestigious railway contract within OCS. The role combines efficient management with a safety-centric approach in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards while meeting tight deadlines.

You will allocate tasks, monitor performance, manage rosters and budgets, train staff, and liaise with clients and stakeholders. Travel across multiple sites is required, with on-site leadership and on-call rotations ensuring smooth daily

• This is a multi-site role requiring travel and travel costs covered by the business.
• Strong organisational and management capabilities in a safety-oriented environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
• Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Task Allocation and Standards Maintenance: delegate tasks to cleaning teams, report to Fleet Presentation Manager, monitor completed work and document results.
• Standardisation and Efficiency: review cleaning tasks for efficiency, verify equipment safety and correct material usage.
• Operational Management: manage team workloads, ensure fair distribution and budget adherence for worked hours; provide on-the-job training; maintain site rotas; address daily challenges.
• Effective Communication and Feedback: liaise with teams to address feedback, monitor KPIs and timesheets within timelines.
• Recruitment and Training: oversee recruitment for supervisory and entry-level positions, identify training needs; manage stock and equipment orders.
• Contractual Responsibilities: conduct audits and training sessions; rotational on-call availability; lead day-to-day operational management for the regional contract.
• Client Interaction and Reporting: interface with clients, service providers, and stakeholders; conduct contractual reviews and evaluations for the regional area.
