Derby Rail Solutions is seeking a Vehicle Painter to refurbish rail vehicles and components to exacting standards at our Derby site. You will prepare surfaces, apply primers and coatings, and ensure a high-quality finish in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers day or night shift patterns with a long contract duration through September 2028. You will work closely with engineers and maintenance staff to meet project specifications and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Experience spraying vehicles or machines to the same calibre.
• Proficiency in spray painting techniques and finishing products.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to painting operations.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.

Responsabilités

• Surface preparation: Clean, sand, and prepare surfaces of rail vehicles and components for painting, ensuring all areas are free of dirt, rust, and imperfections.
• Apply primers, base coats, and finishing coats using spray guns, rollers, and brushes, following detailed specifications and colour codes.
• Conduct thorough inspections of painted surfaces to identify and correct any defects, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
• Perform touch-up painting and refinishing as needed to address any imperfections or damages.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper use of PPE and ventilation systems.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment and keep records of work performed and paint types.
