Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our expanding Rail Systems Engineering team. You’ll work within Telent, dedicated to maintaining the UK-wide rail network. Our clients include Transport for London, Network Rail, and various Train Operating Companies.
Reporting to the Lead Safety and Security Engineer, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for delivering project upgrade works across Network Rail, TFL, TFGM, etc. infrastructure. You will undertake all technical aspects of projects, including survey, design, and technical responsibilities related to SISS within a Rail environment.
Typical Deliverables
- Strong experience in system design, survey, and technical engineering within SISS.
- Leading the creation of new product or service ideas and planning for new designs.
- Managing ideas from initial design through to production and installation.
- Drawing detailed technical plans for concepts.
- Applying mathematical and scientific skills to develop practical solutions.
- Selecting appropriate materials for new products or constructions.
- Forecasting accurate project costs.
- Completing technical and regulatory documentation.
- Ensuring quality control and overseeing the construction, development, and deployment of systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of your engineering discipline and related fields.
- Organizing testing of products, systems, software, or infrastructure.
- Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Developing personal engineering skills.

Skill Requirements
- Previous technical experience in SISS, engineering, design, and survey skills.
- Relevant licenses or certifications.
- Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other CAD software.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively and focus on customer needs.
- Problem-solving passion and analytical skills.
