Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our expanding Rail Systems Engineering team at Telent. The role involves maintaining the UK-wide rail network, working with clients such as Transport for London, Network Rail, and Train Operating Companies.

Reporting to the Lead Safety and Security Engineer, the Systems Engineer will handle project upgrades mainly across Network Rail, TFL, TFGM infrastructure. Responsibilities include survey, design, and technical aspects of SISS within a Rail environment.

Typical Deliverables:
  • Experience in system design, survey, and technical engineering within SISS.
  • Lead on developing new product ideas and designing plans.
  • Manage projects from initial design to installation.
  • Create detailed technical plans and solutions.
  • Utilize scientific skills for problem-solving.
  • Select materials and forecast project costs.
  • Complete technical and regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure quality control and oversee system deployment.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of engineering disciplines.
  • Coordinate testing of products, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop personal engineering skills.
  • Solve complex problems with innovative solutions.
  • Work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Lead projects or project phases as needed.
  • Mentor less experienced colleagues.
