We assist clients in managing health, safety, security, environmental (HSSE), and business risks in sectors where the impact of loss is high. Our team comprises high-caliber, motivated professionals focused on meeting client expectations.

Our principal office is in Warrington, with additional UK offices in Aberdeen, Derby, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London. We also have international offices across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and North America. Our activities are supported by a global network of TÜV Rheinland offices and local representatives. We serve many of the world's leading companies across sectors including oil, gas, chemical, nuclear, defense, transport, and renewables.

We have completed over 7,000 projects for more than 1,400 clients in over 70 countries. More information is available at our website.

Background to the role

Due to significant growth in our projects across various sectors, Risktec is seeking experienced safety engineering professionals to support existing projects and drive further business growth. We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in high-hazard industries such as rail, nuclear, clean energy, or oil & gas, who are willing to transfer their skills to the rail sector.

This role is ideally based in our Derby or London offices, but we are open to applicants from other locations. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in producing safety engineering deliverables using qualitative and quantitative tools across the project lifecycle in the rail industry.
  • Some awareness of CSM-RA processes.
  • Ability to support project delivery within your expertise, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Willingness to work on multiple projects across various technologies, including rolling stock, signaling, and infrastructure.
  • Ability to collaborate with TÜV Rheinland’s global rail teams on international projects.
  • Knowledge of current UK safety legislation and project delivery processes in high-hazard industries.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and expanding expertise in the railway industry.
  • Degree-level education in a science or engineering discipline or equivalent qualifications.
