Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating work with other contractors and Network Rail
• Liaising with route engineers (discipline)
• Participating in engineering and development assurance activities to ensure schemes are affordable, safe, environmentally responsible, and meet programme requirements
• Reviewing compliance with standards (e.g., NR/L2/CIV/003, NR/L3/CIV/0063)
• Using risk assessment methods (e.g., HAZOP, QRA) to evaluate options
• Developing and assuring the selected engineering solutions
• Preparing engineering assurance packages for detailed design
• Carrying out engineering verifications
• Managing engineering interfaces across disciplines
• Ensuring contractor competence and liaising with project engineers for method statements

Requirements:

• Ability to undertake the NR/L2/RSE/02009 Project Engineer role
• Understanding of CDM 2015 and CSM 2013 regulations, especially regarding asset protection
• Knowledge of network rail's risk assessment processes, including CSM-RA
