Job summary

Ganymede is seeking an On-Board Facilities Operative for a practical, hands-on role in London. You will maintain passenger bathrooms on trains, call-outs across the rail network, and undergo specialist safety training to operate in a live rail environment.

The position offers a 4 on/4 off rotation with shifts between 06:00-16:00 and 14:00-00:00, immediate start subject to screening, and training to gain PTS and fleet engineering competencies. This is an excellent entry point for a railway career.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent experience in a trade or facilities background.
• Comfortable dealing with waste/sewage/effluent systems.
• Health, safety and quality conscious.

Responsibilities

• Travel to call-outs across the rail network to resolve issues.
• Clean, repair and maintain toilets and bathroom fixtures on-board trains during service.
• Unblock toilets and sinks; fix leaks or damaged surfaces in on-board WCs as needed.
• Ensure safety, hygiene, and functional standards on every shift.
• Take care of tools, parts and stock; report maintenance needs.
