Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking an Higher Apprentice in Rail Engineering (Level 4) in the UK. The programme spans 48 months with an End Point assessment, combining hands-on experience with structured development and mentoring.

You’ll work on signalling and control systems on live projects across the UK rail network, and complete an Excellence Project to propose a business process improvement. Successful candidates will align to an Level 4 Rail Engineering Advanced Technician apprenticeship standard,

Qualifications

• GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 4/C or higher.
• Logical thinking, willingness to self-learn and research; creative problem solving.
• Ability to work independently, safely and take ownership of challenges.
• Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build engineering skills by learning how signalling and control systems are designed, tested, installed and maintained.
• Gain real-world experience on live projects, supporting signalling and control solutions across the UK rail network; learn industry standards and processes.
• Develop career and professional skills with opportunities to progress toward professional registration and participate in STEM and volunteering activities.

Education

Level 3 Engineering Qualification

Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering

Relevant Engineering BTEC or equivalent technical qualification

3x A Levels at C or above in relevant subjects
