Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer near Burton-on-Trent to design, develop and document electrical systems for locomotives and related equipment. Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years' experience in electrical design for locomotives/heavy machinery/industrial equipment.
• Proficient in electrical CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control system layouts per project requirements and standards.
• Design and specify electrical components, panels and systems with safety and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems and manufacturing teams to integrate electrical designs.
• Support prototype development, testing and commissioning; update drawings, BOMs and docs.
• Troubleshoot electrical design or system issues during manufacturing, testing and field service; suggest optimizations.
• Report project progress and ensure adherence to timelines.
