Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Canada Inc. invites an ecologist to shape projects for rail and infrastructure in the UK, collaborating with clients daily to deliver habitat creation, surveys and mitigation. The role offers flexible and hybrid working and opportunities to pursue Chartership with mentoring.

Our ecology team of over 170 ecologists works across major projects; entry is possible without a degree, with focus on experience, knowledge and fitting with the team.

Qualifications

• Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
• Ideally hold a Natural England dormouse and/or bat licence.
• Strong report writing for ec assessments and habitats work.
• Experience with UK Habitat survey and the Defra Biodiversity Metric.
• Project management experience including technical, financial and QA aspects.

Responsibilities

• Client facing and defining client requirements.
• Working knowledge of the rail market.
• Support infrastructure projects, manage programmes and budgets.
• Plan and conduct field surveys; analyze results.
• Design ecological mitigation and coordinate licences.
• Prepare and check ecological reports and licences.
• Engage with other business areas to cross-sell and drive work-winning.
• Mentor staff and provide coaching towards career goals.
