Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Rail/Heavy Civils team in Warrington. You will manage costs across a high-volume programme of reactive, planned and minor works within rail assets, with a permanent role offering up to £70,000 salary plus car allowance.

The role requires experience in civil engineering or rail, knowledge of NEC or Network Rail forms of contract, and a relevant QS or Commercial Management qualification.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or rail.
• Knowledge of maintenance frameworks or infrastructure projects (rail experience desirable).
• Strong understanding of NEC or Network Rail forms of contract.
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC/HND/Degree).
• The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage costs across multiple projects, ensuring delivery within budget and to forecast.
• Prepare and manage valuations, CVRs, forecasts and final accounts.
• Support profit performance through effective cost control and reporting.
• Work across high-volume, low-value reactive and planned works within the CP7 BAM framework.
• Monitor project performance, including variations, early warnings and change control.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, performance and payments.
• Build strong relationships across the supply chain to drive efficiency and value.
• Collaborate closely with Operational teams, Commercial Managers and clients.
