Job summary

AECOM is hiring a Rail Civils design engineer in Glasgow. You will deliver a wide range of rail civils designs from stations to depots, supporting major rail upgrades and multi-disciplinary projects within a hybrid work model.

We seek Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng/IEng) or progress toward it, plus a relevant engineering degree. You’ll contribute to design leadership, interface management, and quality assurance across transport projects.

• Recognised engineering qualification or preferably a degree in engineering.
• Knowledge of Civils design and experience leading multidisciplinary teams with project interfaces.

Job Description

We are searching for a Rail Civils design engineer to join us here at AECOM, based in our Glasgow office. As a region, we have an established record for successfully delivering Rail Projects.

Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression. The team provides technical leadership of projects throughout the infrastructure lifecycle from feasibility, preliminary and detailed stage designs.

Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector and include the major custodians of the UK’s rail network, numerous local authorities, and major Contractors.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Deliver: Undertake the delivery of a wide range of railcivils designs ranging from stations, train maintenance and servicing depots, ancillary civils supporting major power supply and signalling upgrades, lineside civils and drainage projects. We also provide support to other parts of AECOM’s business on major multi-disciplinary projects.

Provide Expertise:Work with the Civilsdesign team on all aspects of multi-disciplinary projects, from conceptual phases to implementation.

Ensure Quality: Working through the complexities of our Transportation projects, you will hold our clients’ hands and overcome problems in unison when they inevitably arise.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Chartered or Incorporated Engineer CEng/ Ieng or working towards this status.

Recognised engineering qualification or preferably a degree in engineering

Knowledge of Civils Design experience in technical engineering leadership which impact on discipline design principles and demonstrate experience of the successful management of interfaces within projects.
