Job summary

DB Cargo UK Limited is recruiting for a Breakdown & Recovery Team Member based in Newport. The role supports the safe and efficient restoration of rail services across the UK, operating on a 12-hour shift roster within a 24/7 national service.

Full training is provided, including Personal Track Safety (PTS), Rail Recovery Training and First Aid. A full UK driving licence with Category C+E is required, and travel across the UK may be necessary to respond to incidents.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety-critical environments and risk awareness.
• Ability to operate and assist with specialist recovery equipment.
• Full UK driving licence with Category C+E entitlement required.
• Willingness to travel across the UK for incident response.

Responsibilities

• Support recovery operations and assist with safe restoration after incidents.
• Create and maintain safe working environments at depots and incident locations.
• Operate and maintain specialist recovery equipment, including jacking systems.
• Carry out inspections and maintenance to keep equipment ready for deployment.
• Work with colleagues and partners during recovery operations.
