Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking an Associate in its Rail Advisory team. The role leverages substantial experience to win and deliver projects, with emphasis on bidding controls and revenue and margin delivery.

You will apply expertise in demand and revenue forecasting, economic appraisal, and project delivery across cross-functional teams, mentoring others and presenting findings to clients and industry forums.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering analytical or modelling projects using rail data.
• Strong presentation, written and numerical skills.
• Ability to manage own time and support others.
• Confidently manage delivery and oversee juniors.
• Understanding of rail demand forecasting methodologies incl. PDFH.
• Experience with Green Book/DfT TAG guided business cases.
• Knowledge of rail industry and operators.

Responsibilities

• Win and deliver projects safely within bidding and revenue controls.
• Develop and maintain relationships with main client contacts.
• Identify opportunities and share insights with colleagues.
• Ensure opportunities are explored early and meet evaluation criteria.
• Ensure invoicing milestones align with cash profiles.
• Deliver projects on time, cost, quality, and contractual requirements.
• Mentor and support junior project/proposal managers.
• Present to clients and stakeholders; publish papers at conferences.
• Foster cross-team knowledge exchange.
