A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Radiotherapy Treatment Co-ordinator to support the planning and delivery of radiotherapy treatment. This role involves administrative functions, direct patient support, and liaising with healthcare professionals to ensure high standards in patient care within the radiotherapy department. Ideal candidates will have a Level 2 healthcare qualification and experience in a patient-facing role.
Supportthe planning and delivery of radiotherapy treatment by ensuring theadministrative functions (transport, accessing notes & images, liaisingwith patients regarding appointments etc.) are completed.
Therole also involves the direct support of patients through the radiotherapyprocess (assisting with dressing / undressing, aiding patients to the toilet,general patient care etc.).

JOBPURPOSE

JOBDIMENSIONS
Theradiotherapy department delivers treatment care packages to approximately6,500 patients per year. Forming part of a team of co-ordinators, you willhave a clear understanding of the whole of the radiotherapy process. You willbe responsible for supporting the delivery of radiotherapy via a combinationof clerical and patient support duties.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Level 2 qualification or equivalentin relevant health care related subject
Grade D GCSE English + Maths orLevel 2 Functional Skills equivalent
Completion of Care Certificate.Otherwise will be mandatory training requirement during first 3 months ofemployment
Basic computer skills
Experience of working with people

8. CORE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Abasic understanding of the cancer pathway must be developed for therole. A more thorough understanding ofthe radiotherapy pathway and support functions involved in service deliveryis also required. Both of these can be acquired through training in post overa few weeks induction.

Greet patients on their arrival,book them into the appropriate area and direct them as required.
Communicate with cancer patientsregarding their appointments and general care.
Assist in the dressing/undressing ofpatients where required.
Where necessary attending topatients personal needs (e.g. assisting with toilet).
Organise refreshments for patients.
Liaise with staff groups tofacilitate the continuous care of the patient.
Provide a source of support andinformation for cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy.
Following training, deliverinformation regarding the radiotherapy process to patients.
Support distressed patients andfamilies/carers when required
Able to identify when patients/carers need referral for specialist services/support and make theappropriate referral as necessary. Communicate that a referral has been madeto the appropriate professionals in the team
