Job summary

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Radiotherapy Bookings Coordinator in Reading to coordinate patient pathways and booking processes across multiple teams. Qualifications

• General education level: Grade 4 or above in three core subjects.
• Understanding of Medical Terminology; previous experience in a healthcare setting.
• Proven ability to work without close supervision.
• Experience communicating with patients face-to-face, by telephone and in writing; knowledge of cancer waiting times.
• Advanced computer skills and comfort with hospital IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient pathways across departments and external trusts to avoid cancer wait breaches.
• Act as the link between patients, oncology wards, consultants, planning and radiotherapy teams to schedule treatments.
• Prioritise and allocate appointment slots for each stage of the treatment process; liaise with staff as needed.
• Utilise hospital IT systems efficiently and adapt to service changes and improvements.
