Job summary

The Christie in Manchester seeks a strategic leader to guide radiotherapy research, clinical governance, and academic collaboration. You will oversee translational projects, drive innovations in MR-guided and advanced radiotherapy, and ensure rigorous governance and patient safety across the research portfolio.

You will mentor clinical academic staff, foster partnerships with universities and industry, and contribute to evolving research strategy within the Trust and NIHR networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of translational radiotherapy research aligning with clinical and research strategies.
• Develop, implement, and manage research protocols ensuring governance and ethics compliance.
• Drive translation of research findings into clinical practice to improve patient outcomes.
• Lead clinical governance activities, audit, risk management and quality improvement initiatives.
• Build strategic partnerships with academic, industry, and national networks.
• Support clinical academic careers and supervise MSc/PhD students.
