Job summary

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHSFT is seeking a Specialist Engineering Technologist to maintain and repair advanced radiotherapy equipment across Liverpool, Wirral and Aintree sites. You will join a multidisciplinary engineering team ensuring high uptime of Varian, Halcyon, and CT equipment.

Applicants should have HND/BEng or equivalent, registration as a Clinical Technologist, and strong fault-finding skills in electronics and IT.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering, electromechanical and computer systems acquired through relevant courses, updating, training and experience.
• Registration (or achievement of) as a Clinical Technologist with an accredited register.
• Desirable knowledge of radiotherapy equipment; postgraduate qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fault finding on complex electronic systems with high attention to detail, even under pressure.
• Maintain up-time on high capital value radiotherapy equipment across multiple sites.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively.
• Possibility to visit sites and attend external training as required; may be assigned Annex21 or Band 5 while gaining registration.
