Job summary

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust in Peterborough seeks an experienced dosimetry support role to assist the Lead Dosimetrist in delivering precise radiotherapy treatment plans. You will work under scientific supervision with Pre-Treatment Radiographers and the Principal Physicist to ensure accurate planning for patients.

The role supports SABR projects, with emphasis on complex, multifactorial cases. The department is paperless, active in research and national trials, and offers flexible

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Produce highly complex external beam treatment plans within clinical and waiting time constraints.
• Supervise junior dosimetry staff and radiographers in the treatment planning area.
• Liaise with clinicians, physicists, therapy radiographers and technical staff to ensure seamless data transfer.
• Provide highly complex clinical technical advice to Oncology clinicians and radiographers.

Job description

The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Lead Dosimetrist in the provision of the radiotherapy treatment planning service under the scientific supervision of the Principal Physicist - Head of Treatment Planning and in conjunction with Pre-Treatment Therapy Radiographers. The post holder will provide support in all areas of treatment planning. RapidArc is utilised for all suitable clinical sites, as is routine daily online IGRT (including thorax 4DCT and DIBH breast). Our departmenthas been paperless from the beginning. As well as providing top-class service to our patients, we are actively involved in research anddevelopment projects and national clinical trials. We are commissioned to deliver SABR for lung and oligometastatic disease. • The production of highly complex computer based external beam radiotherapy treatment plans for individual patients within clinical and waitingtime constraints.
• Supervision of junior dosimetry staff and radiographers working in the treatment planning area.
• Liaison with clinicians, physicists, therapy radiographers and technical staff to ensure a seamless production and transfer of treatment planningdata.
• Provision of highly complex clinical technical advice to Oncology clinicians and radiographers for complex, multifactorial problems which directly impact upon patient's treatments.
