Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging exams with emphasis on image quality and patient safety. The role collaborates with radiologists and physicians in a fast-paced imaging department.

The successful candidate will maintain ARRT competency, hold a radiologic technologist license, and BLS certification. Preference given to those with 1–2 years radiology experience and IV certification.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• Radiologic technologist license in state of practice (if applicable).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
• May be required to complete Medical Assistant competency checklist and perform MA functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
• Prepares patient, verifies order, identifies patient correctly.
• Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality and accuracy.
• Follows radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe environment.
• Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality; assists students and other Radiology Techs.
• Provides patient education, comfort, and addresses concerns.
• Maintains infection control and sterile techniques.
• Operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
• Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures, and adverse reactions.
• Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC, and reporting equipment failures.
