Job summary

The London Bridge Hospital is offering an exciting Radiology Department Assistant role within its Imaging team, covering The London Bridge Hospital and The Shard Outpatients in Central London.

The role involves supporting a busy Breast Clinics department, assisting with diagnostic imaging procedures, preparing patients, and coordinating appointments using Meditech while working with Consultants, Radiographers and Nurses. A rotation across imaging services provides varied exposure.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Radiology Department Assistant in a hospital setting.
• Experience supporting women's health or breast imaging.
• NVQ Level 3, Care Certificate or equivalent healthcare qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examinations and procedures in diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare and support patients throughout their visit and clinic flow.
• Coordinate appointments and registrations using Meditech; utilize PACS for imaging.
• Undertake a range of administrative duties within the Imaging team.

Job description

Role: Radiology Department Assistant

Location: The London Bridge Hospital and The Shard Outpatients, part of the London Bridge Hospital Campus, Central London.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

Shift times: 7.5 hour shifts between 08:00 and 20:00.

Contract: Permanent.

Salary: Competitive dependent on skills and experience, plus fantastic benefits including private healthcare.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Radiology Department Assistant to join our Imaging team at The London Bridge Hospital and The Shard Outpatients, currently rated \"Outstanding\" by the CQC.

The London Bridge Hospital campus in South East London encompasses an outpatients and diagnostic centre in The Shard; the large world-class hospital based at the Tooley Street site; Private Care at Guys, which is on the top four floors of Guy's Hospital Cancer Centre; and outpatient and diagnostic centres across the City and Canary Wharf.

As a Radiology Department Assistant, you will support our Imaging team across London Bridge Hospital and The Shard Outpatients, assisting with a range of diagnostic imaging procedures and services, including breast imaging, women's health, gynaecology and general ultrasound clinics. While you will gain exposure to a variety of specialties and procedures, the majority of your rotation will be within our busy Breast Clinics department, which operates between 08:00 and 20:00.

Working closely with Consultants, Radiographers and Nurses, you will assist during examinations and procedures, prepare and support patients throughout their visit, coordinate appointments and registrations using Meditech, utilise PACS, and undertake a range of administrative duties. This is a varied, patient-facing role requiring adaptability, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience.
