Radiology Care Assistant (RCA) Band 2 or 3 Depending on Experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Radiology Department at Yeovil District Hospital.

This role will provide support to the Radiology team, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of radiology services to patients.

The role is designed to enable the Radiology Department to deliver a high-quality service that meets the needs of the patient population.

Main duties of the job

Assisting Radiographers, Sonographers and Radiologists with a range of diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures, including MRI, CT, Ultrasound and X-Ray.

Preparing and positioning patients for radiology examinations, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Qualifications and Credit Framework, QCF Level 3.
  • This could be a Vocational NVQ, BTEC or equivalent international qualification in healthcare or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of experience in Radiology RCA.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Previous experience in a Radiology Department.
Additional Criteria
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality.
  • Cannulation and Vascular Access.
  • Assisting with complex Ultrasound interventional procedures.
  • Taking and recording patient observations.
  • Teaching or supervising others.
