Job summary

George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Radiology Administrator to join our team on a permanent basis. The role is 37.5 hours per week with a salary of £25,272 per year, and closes on 4 October 2026.

You will support the Radiology department in patient administration, appointment scheduling and report handling. The post is based at our site in Nuneaton, with opportunities to contribute to service improvements and mandatory training.

Responsibilities

  • Use the computerised Patient Administration System to confirm patient/referrers' details and admission status.
  • Assist secretarial staff in sending printed reports referring to clinicians.
  • Pull and send copies of reports/images requested by other hospitals, following departmental procedure.
  • Assist appointment clerks with scheduling of appointments and sending letters.
  • Request patients' hospital medical notes, if required.
  • Attend departmental admin meetings and contribute to the improvement of the Radiology service; stay aware of departmental and Trust-wide issues.
  • Receive telephone queries from patients and referrers and act on them according to guidelines.
  • Undertake any other ad hoc duties as directed by the Office Manager or Deputy.
  • Participate in relevant training events as required.
  • Undergo an annual appraisal to develop a training and development plan for personal and professional needs.
  • Ensure all mandatory training is completed and updated in line with Health and Safety policies.
  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships within the department.
  • Update Radiographers/Radiologists/Sonographers of changes to appointment lists and pass relevant information from patients at reception.
