Job Description:

We are seeking qualified and experienced RT Level 2 Technicians to join our team at Howmet Aerospace. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and safety of investment castings. The successful candidate will operate X-ray and gamma radiographic equipment using conventional film and/or non-film digital techniques, interpret results, and ensure compliance with stringent customer specifications. This role operates on a swing shift pattern, 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm.

Environmental, Health & Safety Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing Howmet’s EHS values and policies.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate, and regulatory EH&S regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Report all job-related illnesses and injuries.
  • Report all safety, health, and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EH&S training.
Interpersonal Responsibilities:

This position involves frequent internal contact with Engineering, Quality, and other Manufacturing departments.

Essential Job Functions for Radiographers Level 2:
  • Set up and operate 320 KV X-ray units and IR192 Gamma units to radiograph investment castings according to customer requirements.
  • Perform darkroom operations, including loading film cassettes, basic processor maintenance, and cleaning.
  • Process and sort film.
  • Operate densitometers to verify film densities.
  • Complete records as required, including internal, customer, and NADCAP requirements.
  • Follow set-up techniques accurately.
  • Interpret radiographs and digital images to determine if castings are free of internal defects per customer requirements.
  • Read and understand customer acceptance criteria.
  • Determine if repairs or rework are necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
