A leading healthcare provider is seeking enthusiastic Interventional Radiographers to join their dynamic team in Leeds. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment and have an appetite to learn new skills. Ideally, candidates will have existing Interventional Radiology experience and demonstrate competence in using single or bi-plane C arm systems. However, full training will be provided. We are committed to continuous professional development (CPD) and actively support training opportunities.
This vacancy is currently for 7 whole time equivalents (WTE) / 37.5 hrs per week.
Among your many duties will be the responsibility for further developing close working relationships with allied AHPs and Nursing groups as part of a multidisciplinary Radiology Theatres team. You will be professionally and operationally accountable to the Radiographer Team Managers.
We have a comprehensive induction programme with mentoring support available. In-house applications training is provided, with online resources covering all aspects of Angiography and Interventional Radiology. The successful applicant will be enrolled on the effective Angiographic Preceptorship Package. The training will involve developing knowledge, skills, and competencies in equipment use and progressing towards a band 6 position. Training will be tailored to individual needs depending on current experience.
We support a diverse range of adult and paediatric IR procedures, including but not limited to: treatment of peripheral arterial disease, cerebral aneurysm embolisation, stroke thrombectomy, aortic aneurysm repair, treatment of vascular malformations, trauma, trans arterial chemoembolization (TACE), paediatric vascular intervention, and non-vascular intervention.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has a comprehensive stroke centre and is expanding its thrombectomy service to provide 24/7 coverage for West Yorkshire. Due to this expansion, multiple positions are available for Interventional Radiographers within Radiology Theatres at Leeds General Infirmary and St James Hospital.
The departments include 6 theatres across 2 sites, equipped with Philips Allura and Siemens Artis systems, with a scheduled biplane theatre installation in 2026. The unit is a regional stroke and major trauma centre.
There will be a commitment to on-call duties, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, pro-rata. Currently, the service operates Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Undertake all professional and technical requirements as a State-Registered radiographer with the HCPC, working as an autonomous practitioner within the Trust's Radiology Directorate.
Perform a variety of specialised radiography procedures within Radiology Theatres, managing patients with diverse and complex conditions.
Manage personal workloads, prioritise examinations, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing high standards of patient care, following policies and procedures.
Supervise and train radiographers, students, and staff as appropriate, and work independently within your scope of practice.
Contribute to the development of the radiology service, participate in on-call duties, and maintain high professional standards through CPD.
Assess, justify, and evaluate specialised examinations, ensuring high-quality images are produced and reviewed in a timely manner.
Participate in out-of-hours service, adhere to infection control protocols, and represent the radiography service in multidisciplinary meetings.
Ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during examinations, and communicate effectively with patients and staff, including those with communication difficulties.
Operate advanced radiological software and equipment, review images, and ensure proper documentation and data management.
Reflect on practice, identify areas for improvement, and report incidents according to policies.
Assist in training staff and students, and support the implementation of backup measures for IT systems.
