Job description

Wecurrently have an opportunity available to join our enthusiastic, motivatedand friendly team, working in one of the largest cardiac catheter lab suitesin the UK.

Ifyou wish to pursue a career in Cardiac Radiography we can offer you theopportunities needed to develop your existing skill set, and to train to thehighest level of expertise. Whilst previous cardiac / angiographic experienceis preferable, full training will be provided.

Thedepartment currently has six catheter labs, and we have just completed amulti-million pound contract to update all six of our labs to the mostcurrent technology and state of the art software on the market. We alsoopened our specialist bi-plane paediatric Hybrid lab in April 2019 whichprovides treatment for children with the most complex congenital heartproblems across the Yorkshire and Humber areas.

Theunit is a regional centre for paediatric and adult congenital heart diseaseand a tertiary referral centre for adult coronary intervention.

Therewill be a commitment to partake in the on call service, as well as extendedworking hours in both areas following supervised training, and the postholder must have the ability to transport themselves to the department within30 minutes of being called out (i.e. personal transportation) or stay on sitefor on call.

Main duties of the job

Asa Band 6 Radiographer in the Cardiac Catheter Lab, you will play a crucialrole in providing high-quality imaging and patient care across a variety ofcomplex cardiac procedures.

Keyresponsibilities include:

Performingdiagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures in our state-of-the-artcatheter labs.

Supportingmultidisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality patient care across a widerange of specialties, including coronary angiography, Electrophysiologystudies, pacemaker/device implantation, congenital and paediatric proceduresand TAVI.

Contributingto departmental audits, quality assurance activities, and patient safetyinitiatives.

Maintaininghigh standards of patient care and ensuring that all imaging protocols arefollowed correctly.

Engagingin research opportunities and staying up-to-date with the latest developmentsin interventional cardiology.

Workingflexibly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, adapting to changingpriorities as needed.

Job responsibilities

Asa band 6 Cardiac Radiographer you will be expected to work as a clinicalspecialist as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing high standards ofpatient care, whilst following policies and procedures as specified by theRadiology and Cardiology Management Teams.

Thepost holder will also undertake the supervision and specialist clinicaltraining of radiographer, undergraduate students and other staff asappropriate.

Fullequipment training will be provided as part of the mentorship programme, aswell training on imaging protocols and standards of image quality. As a Band6 Radiographer you will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinaryteam alongside Clinicians, Nurses and Cardiac Physiologists. The successfulcandidates will need to be flexible and will participate in department 24/7shift patterns including on call working.
