Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Radiographer to join its Mammography service on a bank basis at Ridgeway Hospital. The role supports fast track cancer services with ad-hoc and scheduled shifts, performing MRI/PACS-related imaging and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout examinations.

The successful candidate will hold HCPC registration, a Diagnostic Radiography degree, and breast imaging experience, with flexibility to cover busy periods and annual leave.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
• Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
• Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures following referrals and imaging protocols.
• Ensure high-quality images to support accurate diagnosis while minimising repeats.
• Adapt techniques for paediatrics, bariatrics, and limited mobility patients.
• Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service; keep patients informed and comfortable.
• Monitor patients and respond to any signs of deterioration.

Radiographer - Mammography (Bank)

Location: Ridgeway Hospital Bank Shifts.

Salary: Up to £30 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).

Job Type: Bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

The Ridgeway Hospital in Swindon is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department. We are looking for an individual who is able to support our fast track cancer services which are ran adhoc on Mondays, Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons.

Duties

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
• Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
• Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility.
• Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
• Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
• Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
• Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
• Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.

Qualifications & Requirements

• BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
• Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
• Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area desirable (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography).
• Must have UK Breast Imaging certificate.
