Job summary

The Meriden Hospital in Coventry, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Bank Radiographer to join the Imaging department on an as-needed basis. The role covers a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures and requires flexibility to supplement staffing during busy periods.

Applicants should hold a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography with HCPC registration and have at least 1 year of UK hospital experience.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography and HCPC registration.
• Minimum 1 year UK hospital experience (NHS or private).
• Knowledge of IR(ME)R, health and safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and patient-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures following referral and imaging protocols.
• Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
• Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility.
• Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
• Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
• Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
• Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
• Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.
