Qualifications

  • Level 1 Radiographer ASNT Certification required.
  • Experience in relevant NDT roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiography using DR and CT for anomaly detection.
  • Conduct leak testing measuring helium escapement.
  • Contribute to Health and Safety compliance and documentation.

Join us on this mission as a Pyro Level 1 Radiographer within the friendly and supportive Operations department, based in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire.

This role will be shift based beginning January 2026 and will require applicants to work 4 days on and 4 days off within the hours 07:00 – 16:30 and will include a shift allowance. During the remainder of 2025 applicants will be working our regular hours of 08:00 – 16:45 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 12:00 on Fridays, a shift allowance will not be included.

Aspects of the role to include.

X-Ray

Perform radiography using DR and CT for detection of anomalies and incorrect assembly of cartridge and rocket assemblies in accordance with company procedures.

Leak Testing

Measuring the rate of escapement of helium from cartridges using a mass spectrometer to agreed test limits.

The Health and Safety System

Provide input and conform to, Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, Explosive Safety, Audits and Procedures.

Training/ Skills And Competence

To learn/ maintain/ help document skills and competence, to an agreed plan as agreed by the cell leader.

Continuous Improvement

Create and drive a culture of continuous improvement using the 5S process. Working to ensure that X-Ray have all the correct tools and technologies to do the job.

Working With Others

Chalgrove cell Leader, PED, QA/ QC, Production Control, Stores and Denham. In meetings and in day-to-day activity. Solving problems through co-ordination and technical knowledge.

Characteristics & Skills

  • Level 1 Radiographer ASNT Certification
  • Experience in similar NDT roles.
  • Using a digital x-ray system.
  • Self-inspection.
  • Reading and understanding Engineering drawings, route cards and relevant documentation.
  • Understanding and interpretation of relevant test ATPs, QAI and relevant x-ray techniques.
