Job Summary

We are looking for Radio Mic Technicians to assist and support with sound work ensuring that effective and efficient technical support is in place for The BFG, specifically in the upkeep and coordination of the radio microphones and practical props.

Job Description

Do you have working knowledge of sound, communications and radio microphones in a theatre environment? Can you operate Sure Axient software? Do you want to be part of a collaborative, ambitious and dynamic team? Are you available to work from early November through to February 2026 in Stratford-upon-Avon?

We are looking for Radio Mic Technicians to assist and support with sound work ensuring that effective and efficient technical support is in place for https://www.rsc.org.uk/whats-on/ - The BFG , specifically in the upkeep and coordination of the radio microphones and practical props.

Reporting to the Head of Sound, key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

  • Fitting hairline microphones & managing the radio mic plot
  • Checking microphone positions, sound quality and patch
  • Fault finding, repair and maintenance of sound equipment
  • Complying with health and safety at all times

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of sound, communications radio microphone placement and maintenance and sound-related disciplines in the theatre environment.
  • Working knowledge of Sure Axient software.
  • An understanding of Health and Safety legislation
  • The ability to work on one's own initiative and within a strong team.
