MASS is seeking a Radio Frequency Modeller/Analyst at Porton Down, Salisbury. In this permanent, full-time role, you will support the UK’s defence capabilities by delivering RF modelling and simulation alongside a team of specialists.

Radio Frequency Modeller/Analyst – Porton Down, Salisbury – Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £40,000–£60,000 DOE

Join MASS at Porton Down and be at the forefront of Electronic Warfare (EW) innovation! As a Radio Frequency Modeller/Analyst, you’ll work alongside a team of 60+ specialists—engineers, scientists, and ex-military experts—helping to safeguard the UK’s defence capabilities.

What you’ll do:

• Deliver cutting‑edge RF modelling and simulation to support front‑line defence.
• Develop, verify, and validate software tools to assess EW systems and novel techniques.
• Contribute to research, testing, and analysis across air platform and mission survivability domains.
• Become a Subject Matter Expert with opportunities to branch into specialisms as your career progresses.

Essential skills & experience:

• Degree in Maths, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience with model development, simulations, and data analysis (MATLAB, Python, or C++).
• Ability to write reports and present simulation outputs effectively.

Desirable skills:

• Digital signal processing, RF modelling, and EW domain knowledge.
• Linux OS experience and scripting (BASH, PERL).
• Understanding of Air domain TTPs and version control (Git/Bitbucket).
• Interest in applying innovative technologies to real‑world scenarios.

• Eligible for SC-level UK Government Security Clearance.
