MASS in Salisbury, Porton Down, is seeking an EW Systems Engineer to join a major national defence transformation programme. You will apply MBSE and traditional systems engineering across the lifecycle to translate operational needs into robust EW solutions.
You will collaborate with scientists, engineers and end users, own requirements management in DOORS/EA, and contribute to verification, validation and acceptance testing, while maintaining security clearances and UK national work eligibility.
At MASS, we solve complex defence and security challenges through systems engineering, software, electronic warfare and operational analysis, helping to deliver mission‑critical capability to UK Defence and its partners.
Join our growing team at Porton Down, Salisbury (SP4), working directly alongside our technical customer, Dstl, one of the UK's leading science and technology organisations. This role sits at the heart of a major national defence transformation programme, where you'll help shape the next generation of UK defence capability.
Working embedded with the customer, you'll operate with a high degree of autonomy and influence, collaborating directly with scientists, engineers and military end users to translate real‑world operational challenges into robust engineering solutions. You'll apply both traditional Systems Engineering principles and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements capture and system design through to integration, verification and validation.
This is a technical role where you are the direct point of contact for scientists, mathematicians, and physicists to discuss needs for future developments in the Electronic Warfare domain.
Unlike many engineering roles, this position offers the opportunity to work closely with the customer throughout the entire lifecycle, influencing capability from concept through to operational deployment. You'll see your work tested in the real world, supporting in‑field trials across the UK and internationally while helping deliver current and next‑generation technologies that make a genuine operational impact.
