We are recruiting for a RAN and Spectrum Strategy Expert to join our Radio Access Network (RAN) Technology Strategy and Architecture Strategy Team. We seek a candidate passionate about RAN technologies to serve as our Subject Matter Expert across Virgin Media O2, acting as an ambassador and thought leader externally. This is a high-profile, visible role.

The TS&A team plays a pivotal role in setting the strategic technical direction of VMO2's mobile network technology. We guide decision-makers to make optimal technology choices and support them in adopting key innovations to transform our business and meet strategic goals.

The must-haves

To be considered, you should have:

• Deep understanding and practical experience with 3GPP RAN technologies including LTE, LTE-Advanced, 5G, and 5G Advanced.
• Deep understanding and practical experience of mobile spectrum principles and management techniques.
• Experience with radio traffic analysis and spectrum capacity dimensioning.
• Knowledge of radio wave propagation principles, theories, and their application in mobile coverage prediction.
• Understanding of global and UK spectrum assignment processes, regulations, and standardisation bodies.

Additional qualities we value

• Knowledge of network infrastructure sharing techniques and capability enablers, passive and active sharing.
• Familiarity with JOTS forum Neutral Host technical specifications.
• Understanding of RF Health regulations and their application to mobile networks.
