Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear's Radiation Protection Graduate Programme offers a two-year rotation across our nuclear safety teams. You’ll learn to assess radiation risks, draft protection measures, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting decommissioning and construction of nuclear facilities.

You’ll integrate with multi-disciplinary teams, receive mentorship, and access training through UKHSA/AURPO pathways. The programme is based at Newbury, with on-site days and some flexible attendance.

Qualifications

• Achieved or on track to achieve an (Hons) degree in Physical Sciences, Natural Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Computer Science or Maths.
• Postgraduate degree in Radiation and Environmental Protection, Safety Engineering, Nuclear Science or Nuclear Engineering desirable.
• BPSS and Security Check clearance must be achievable for this programme.

Responsibilities

• Draft and implement radiation protection policies with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Assess radiation hazards and regulatory compliance in workplaces.
• Provide consultancy, prepare detailed reports and liaise with regulators.
• Support decommissioning, dismantling submarines, and nuclear facilities projects.
