Job description

Job title: Radiation Protection Advisor
Job Type: Permanent
Start date: As soon as possible subject to clearance
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum + Benefits (Bonus, Pension, Holidays etc)
Location: Hybrid/Remote Working
Hours of work: 37 hours per week

Role & Responsibilities:
*You will provide advice to the Employer upon ensuring doses exposures are maintained as ALARP.
*You will provide advice to the Employer upon ensuring the implementation of radiological protection survey programmes, undertaking its regular review and ensuring it is completed.
*You will provide advice to the Employer upon ensuring adequate dosimetry and dosimetry services (such as dose tracking) to client operations and business areas.
*You will provide advice to the Employer upon the production and support to the production of risk assessments.
*You will provide advice to the Employer upon ensuring all personnel are adequately trained in accordance with the client management system and any additional requirements relevant to their work.
*You will set and review of the annual dose constraint, as required.
*You will support the verification of secondary waste calculations prior to issue to Customers and / or Suppliers.
*You will carry out coaching and mentoring of other staff in good radiation protection practices.
*You will undertake radiation protection and waste management related audits and benchmarking activities to ensure the requirements of the IRR17 and any associated industry good practice guides are implemented.

Qualifications/Experience Required:
* All candidates MUST Hold a Radiation Protection Adviser certificate of competence
* Preferable hold a SNVQ Level 4 in radiation safety practice (or equivalent)
* Understanding and experience of implementation of radiation protection systems, plant operations and site activities and associated hazards.

All candidates must be able to obtain UK National Security Vetting Status - SC Clearance
